Bt 14 - Genting Perez
Nearly puke, diarrhea, and hills. Nice combinations huh. The morning starts with ceret beret, which woke me up earlier than expected. After that, packing up and meet with Bacin and Dicky at bt14. First 7km was fine (from community hall bt 14 to bt18), another 10km(bt 18 bridge to tekala-perez junction) also was fine. But as I climb to Perez, my heart beat going extremely high, I can feel the pulse up in my baldy head. Never in my life something like that happened. Rest for a while and then climb up as usual, but a bit slow than last time. I don't know, just feeling a bit tired. Lack of electrolyte I assume.Time kasih ceret beret.
Genting Perez - K.Klawang.
Virgin to this route. Mostly it was downhill, some few killer climb (lagi lagi aku letih dan tak bermaya). Bacin and Dicky waited me at some bridge near to Hutan Litang. The plan is to breakfast and refill at Pekan K.Klawang, but since they see me at a not so good condition, we all get our breakfast somewhere after Pusat Pemulihan Dadah Jelebu (I guess). I drink 2 can of 100 plus, eat Maggie Goreng. And I'm good to go climbing that treacherous hill(or so I thought).
K.Klawang - Genting Perez
Letih macam sial, peluh macam hanjing, no energy in my leg, as Dicky and Bacin would say. I have bonked. Right after the bridge, I was actually trying to survive the hill. Everytime I stop for rest, my body shaking. Drink a bit, and go on. It's like stop and go most of the way, rest when I can't climb. There's time that I thought of hitch a ride, letih baiiii...But I reached the top and meet up with Bacin and Dicky.
Genting Perez - Bt 14.
Ride was smooth, still feeling tired. Some where in Kg Jawa we stop so I can replenish my electrolytes and H2O. Then continue to bt 14. Manage to stumble with Shazly.
After the ride, I went straight to the doctor. Huahuahuahuahua

RMAF - Gazelle
I ran using my gazelle. And to my amazement, I didn't get any blisters. The sock is wet. But there's no blisters at all. Imagine running at 21km and no blisters. Nipple got chaffed lah. But not at the feet area.
And I did realize the shop does not grip enough on the road. Wonder why.
And I did realize the shop does not grip enough on the road. Wonder why.
And yet again I ran
Lack of training. That's what come into my mind yesterday when doing the Bike - Swim - Run simulation at Putrajaya with Steve, Azmar and Kam. And some more I didn't get enough sleep as there were a lot of mosquitoes in my room yesterday, but manage to woke up fresh lah.
21. The number keep popping out in my mind as I drive to pickup Kam and Azmar. And to add up to my amazement, the air force provide us runners busses to send us to racing point from parking lot. Nice huh.
Race started with a bang, the first 2km we were running on a runway, airfield runway and the organizers were kind enough to lit up the route by shooting up flares/fireworks. Many waterstation along the way tho.
Km 0 until km 15 was ok, after that body started to shutdown slowly, I can feel my leg gone tired, semi dragging (gatal tak nak training, padan muka). Manage to finish the run in 2hrs 6 min.

Malakoff CR - Day 3
It's day 3, and I have doubts that whether I will suffer or not today. Never did a 3 day long ride. The longest is just 2 days. Even that, the second day I kinda suffer.
Flagged off from Asrama Rakan Muda somewhere at 730ish. Weather was superb on the first 110km (40km - 40km - 30km). Its on the third stop that we have lunch. Last 40km is a bit harsh because of the road construction. Other then that, it is mostly flat. And we maintain a 25km - 30kmh pace.
So it was 40km-40km-30km-40km. On the second 40km and third 30km, most of the time we were pulled by Trengganu small cyclist, age was around standard6 - form 4, and they were bloody fast. Everytime they sprint I need to speed up until 52km to catch up with them.
Temperature was not hot, even at someplace you can see fog.Scenery was AWESOME. Use the inner road from Kemaman to Kerteh, but manage to ride along the oil refinery, which I must say again and again, the architecture is amazing. Route was mostly flat but there were hills between Kemaman and Kerteh, and even we have to avoid cow dungs.
Last stop was at Pantai Burok Beach Resort. Took a bath, (Thanks AJ for the room), dinner with the Malakoff staff, then take a night bus at 11pm.

Malakoff CR - Day 2
Torturous second day. Flagged off from Hotel Sri Malaysia Temerloh. Keep a constant pace of 25kmh. Our stop is at 45km - 45km(lunch) - 20km(stop to refill, panas beb) - 20km - 45km (end).
Were join by many under age cyclist, as I would like to say. They are supremely young, range from standard 6 - form 4. And coached by school teachers, who I understand one of them is a national cyclist. But still there are many volunteer who would coach these youngsters. I was told it's a culture here in Trengganu for people to cycling. Old men, young men, boys or girl.
Anyhow, today was hot, DAMN hot as I would say. Plus with chafing, couldn't ride with ease, as it was pain in the ass literally. Mostly reposition the ass or stand cycling. After the lunch stop, we still need to stop as it was too hot to continue. But after that the temperature cooled down, and we continue on.
Stop at Rakan Muda Hostel. Satar was delicous..haha

Malakoff CR - Day 1
0630, cycled off from Lembah Keramat to Sekolah Menengah Teknik Gombak. Meet up with Malakoff staff, CK, Kam and Bandit. Were told that Shazly will join later as he have a class to teach. Cyclist mostly from Malakoff, Sterling Insurance, Le2a and outsiders like me, and some other people.
Start with picture snapping, stretching and doa recital.
I start off slow, spinning and warming up the legs as it'll be a slight climb to Genting Sempah. Allow some few riders to overtake me. I was at behind, I couldn't remember when, but suddenly I was behind AJ and Shahrim (cyclist from Sterling Insurance). Pace was steady at the climbing part up until Sharim told me that my tire was deflating. Have to stop pump, but then up at Genting Sempah I changed the tube, with the help from Kam and Bandit.
First stop at Kolam Air Panas, then continue on to Ice Cream shop in Bentong. Lunch at Felda Mempaga. Stop again at Petronas Jalan Karak. Last stop at Sri Malaysia Temerloh.
After the first stop, manage to play around with CK, we pulled each other until 49kmh. Few times breakaway from the peloton though.
Eat and berendam at Sri Malaysia. Then join the dinner at the orphanage house somewhere near, where Malakoff present the donation.

Gazelle Review - Triathlon
Triathlon, this is the one of the main reason why I want this Gazelle shoe. Usually when I do cycling, I never did worn any socks. And during running part, for both Sprint and Olympic Distance that I have done in Famosa, I didn't wear any socks as I bring the wrong socks which is a bit hassle just to wear it. But for training runs I usually did run with sock.
Problem is with stability, as my feet got wet because of the swimming and the sweats because of cycling, I do feel slippery at somepoint in running part. Thus causes blister, a small one. No biggie I guess. And since it is my first time running without socks, I do feel kinda weird when you can feel the holes at the sole. But as usual, after a few steps, you kinda adapt to it.
And the shoe does smell, a bit. Not at the Xstatic part, but at the upper mesh part.
Overall this shoe is ok. Note to self, dont forget socks

First two Triathlon - pt3 - OD
I think I eat more then enough at the Carbo Loading night. Even went to 7 E in Tampin, buy few bottles of water and some buns for today breakfast, dont want to repeat the same mistake.
I still remember the panic moment in the sprint swimming part, and I am doubting my self. Should I continue with this madness or shouldn't I. My heart is beating slowly as I am truly scared of the swimming part. "400 meter pun ntah ape ape, ini kan 1.5km". I keep saying that to myself, even while munching the bread and powerbar. Then I felt that my body is burning up, "Ouh damn, not fever, not now,". I went to Dicky and he said my temp is ok. I even went to Azmar and he said I'm ok. Maybe its because of the aircond.
Still, even though we woke up early but we arrive at the starting point a bit late, i think 10-20 mins to 8am. Hung up the the bike put the thing, and hey I saw Roger and Terry. Roger's bike is just beside mine.
Swimming. Still in 'not so sure whether to do it or not' mood. Takpelah, go for warm up first. Water is cold. First mistake on the day, I swim in too early when Mr Chan announced to be ready at the starting point. I'm still weak at water treading. Nearly drown when they move back the starting line.People pushing and all. So I swam back to the shore and wait everybody to swim first. Many people ask whether I was OK or not. But I'm too panic to reply, the only thing that came up to my mind is "let's finish this". And so I did, swim very slow. Many people said that my time is 1hour 15 min. Me myself am not so sure because I forgot to clock. Ouh yeah, I nearly cramp on the last loop, tried to shout for the rescuer but they just looking at me. Haihh..so i just continue slowly.
At least I still feeling energetic after the swim. I can run better then yesterday to the Bike transition. Then just go like the best I can for the bike and run. Thanks to Mac's wheel, I can push more. And it feels lighter then before. Many hills though, but then manage to overtook some people. Yes I want to survive this race, but I don't want to finish last.
40km passed by and comes the running. I bring one of the best socks for marathon but it is a double layer socks which is a hassle to wear it, and so I ran without using socks, melecet pun melecetlah, 10km only. Drank a whole bottle of gatorade. And off I go. Running while untangling my Ipod Nano and setting up the Ipod Nike. Passing Kam and Zafrul, and aiming some guy who wore the Japan Cup bike jersey. Overtook some foreigner, as I enter the resort, I'm thinking that I could sprint for the last 1.5km, but then I didn't know that we were supposed to circle around the clubhouse.Cheh (note to self, bila briefing dengar betul betul). I saw Edwin, he is not so well, kinda saw him walking and running.Potoonnng!!
Finish the run and bike in 2hrs 14m, including T2. Bike as the meter showing is 1hrs 15m. Av speed is 29km. Run from the Nike Ipod is 57 min for nearly 9km.

First two Triathlon - pt2 - The Sprint
As I was in panic setting up the bike at the transition spot, Mr Chan shouted "5 minute to start". Shit, I didnt even get my numbering yet, hung the bike and go for numbering. Just put the whole bag in the basket.
After the numbering I straight away go to the "oh so dirty lake that I have been warned about" (no infection please). I saw a few people in that lake, so I thought that it has already started.
"Masuk je lah," I told myself, try to swim around, ok lah the water is lukewarm, deep, and dark. Green, dark green. Try not to drink the water. As I swim around thinking why some still standing at the starting point, turn out that was the warming up session, not start yet. Bodoohhh, bodoh.
blablabla, it's started, and I was trying to do freestyle. First few meter can lah, but then I felt tired too soon and not to forget panic. I try to reach the small buoy, damn it sinks, cannot support my weight. I'm tired, lack of training and I'm panicking. Then I target the next PowerBar big baloon, swim there and rest for a while. Catch up my breath and slowly did a breast stroke till the end.
As I reach the land I can feel my leg, actually my whole body is wobbly, no energy. Then I remembered, I didn't eat the whole day, except for breakfast. 3 Vadel (indian spicy donut). And i feel dehydrated. DAMN. It's ok, I got power gel at my bag there. Showered my self and drink the water. Why la you give me cold water one. I slowly reach my beg and realize that my PowerGel is my other bag. DOUBLE DAMN. And I didn't even fill up my water bottle, know what, I didn't even bring my water bottle. It's also in my another bag. TRIPLE DAMN.
Time wasted thinking about all the nice things that I forgot. So I go ahead with the cycling part. No water, no energy. Cycle slowly hoping that my body will cope and start up. Cycling slowly, thank god that it started with downhill, and slowly I begin to feeling ok. Ok but weak. Drank a lot of plain water, making my self bloated with water. There's no 100 plus for sprint. Even everytime I pass Azim, I keep asking him is there any water or food. 2 loop passed.
T2. Time for run. 3 km, but my leg got no energy maa~~.How to run. My biggest mistake, at the water station, I drink too much. Now feeling want to puke edy. I'm practically walking as I am so weak. It's more like a walk run kinda thing. 3 km is like hell. Finish at 1hr 29m.
Note to self - Jangan Lupa Makan DOL!!!

First two Triathlon - pt1 - The Trip
My head is heavy, spinning, still sleepy. And I missed the Power Run. DAMN. Well, it's 830 already and Lin will pick me up at 1000. It's Saturday already, its THE day. A Famosa Triathlon. My first tri. I'm still convincing myself that I'm not crazy and I can do it. Fuck, I hate swimming. Talking myself while packing and checking my things.
Fetch Lin from Giant Taman Permata and at 1030, off we go to Melaka.
The trip was smooth until we reach somewhere after the Nilai junction.Damn, traffic jam in the highway.Slowly we move and if I'm not mistaken,it took us an hour just to cover 5km.We decided to use jalan lama in seremban but luckily Upiq called and said one lane is opened up to cater the jam and the traffic smooth up right before exit to Seremban.
Reach the resort at 2pm (thank you garmin gps thingy),I was a bit sad that I couldn't make it for the sprint registration as I read in the website, must collect and pay up before 2pm,but yet again Upiq save the day telling me that can still pay up and compete.
After the registration, time to pick up the keys and hell, there was a miscommunication at the reception where I have to pay 500 for deposit and it's 1530.
Got into the house, try to berak and giddy up to the starting point.thanks lin for sending me there.

New Gazelle Test Drive
Few km were made with this shoe, oh how well we bonded. I don't intend to run far with it for today, as I'm preparing for the Famosa Triathlon. Try not to over do the running part. So far as predicted. My feet is still dry, even though my running jersey is a bit soaked with my sweats and all. But I guess since I'm running around 9km, there's not much impact. But if I run in my Adizero Breeze, my feet will be soaked with sweats.
Stability is there, try to do some off road just now. No pain. Running is easy as the shoe is light. After a while of not running in this shoe. Need to adjust running in a shoe that have holes in the sole, after a few steps OK already.

Adidas Seeding Program - Ep 2
Yesterday, I got a mail from Krishnan Adidas, regarding another shoe seeding program. I was like "yay, shoes". Tried to call Krishnan but then can't get through. Try to call Frank to inform him about the mail but then turns out that him, Saiful and some other runners were there in Adidas Damansara. That was fast. Frank told me that Krishnan have reserved me the Gazelle, since he knew I was after that shoe for a long time now. Thanks Krishnan.
Went to pick up that shoe straight away.
Erm, the deal is that I take the shoe and write a review about it. Well, here goes.
What makes this shoe special, well to me, is that this shoe is light, and got a lot of ventilation, most of everywhere. I even try to compare this shoe to Zoot Tri Shoe, and I don't think Zoot got as many ventilation as this shoe.
Second is because of the sole, which use a technology called X Static . This technology is about odour. Means your shoe is odourless.
Other than that it's a combination of Competition and Training shoe. And yeah, it comes with Climacool, Adiprene + and Adiwear technology.
Continue with this review later, need to breaking the shoe first before running in it
