Road to PBM

22nd June 2007

It was 8.30pm when I met Frank at Puduraya bus station.I think Frank arrived earlier then me, but Ferdinand reached there earliest. Then Cikgu Din (RunnersMalaysia) called, well he is not here to join us for PBM, he just want to buy Frank's Ipod Nano. Our bus is scheduled to arrive at 9.30pm though. But it's just 9.00pm.

--10.00pm--
Our bus should arrive at 9.30pm,but we were still waiting for it, lambat due to traffic jam I guess. I'm already sweating, panas woo. Most bus that arrive that time is the 8.30 or 9pm bus. Panas wuuuu....

We were onboard somewhere around 10.20pm.hink. I overheard the driver said there was an accident somewhere in Rawang, lori pasir terbalik. And then the bus engine died twice while we are still in Pudu (bad omen?).

10.29pm. Bas sudah jalan.Penang!! Here we come..

23rd June 2003
It is 9.30 in the morning when we all woke. I’m still shivering as the air cond was set to 20 degree, damn cold. But still, it’s a good night sleep nevertheless. Better have someplace to sleep then none.

We arrived at Sg. Nibong bus station at 2.48am, still sleepy though, didn’t have much sleep in the bus. Took a taxi straight to YMCA hostel in McAllister road, the only things that I could think at that moment is a decent bath and a good night sleep. But then, surprisingly when we want to check in, the staff said that our name wasn’t on the list. Frank was very pissed off, me? I’m too darn tired to smack the heck of that guy. But I respect the way Frank talked to that guy, You can hear the high tone, but no foul language. The guy checks the book again, but still our name isn’t on that list. I can’t totally blame the guy, as he is only a watchmen hired to cover for the night shift, Frank told him that the Malay girl who entertain him said that there was a room available for us, well, Frank did make a reservation a week plus before, and he reconfirm with the staff again before we leave for Penang. So what we did is that we called every hotel in Penang, most of it is fully booked for the PBM, but there’s one motel (Friendship Motel) in Penang Street that have a room for three to accommodate us. Thank God.

--10.00am—
Taxi arrived in front of our motel. We went to Queensbay Mall to collect our number and stuff. The place is crowded with people collecting their things, Phiten and Powerbar sales representatives also there. I don’t know how many PowerBar samples I ate. What to do, free maa.

We don’t know what to do after collecting our staff. Ferdinand is hungry, so we search for food court. Queensbay Mall is similar to One Utama in certain way, and for me it has the resemblance from Midvalley Megamall also. But then it’s not the time to think about it. Mana lah food court nih? Haishh.

-1.00pm-
Andy arrived to QB Mall as we all busy taking our picture in an abandon car park in front of the mall. He collected the staff and we went for lunch at McD.

4.00pm
We arrived at the motel. Decided to jalan jalan, actually the plan was to go to KOMTAR, but halfway thru, we decided to eat our dinner (dinner meh,? It’s like nearly 5.00pm) in some nasi kandar restaurant.

On the way back we did plan to take a ferry to the mainland, but Frank forgot to bring his camera, and so Ferdinand suggested that we take the camera and take a ferry. But once we arrived at the motel, everybody is in no mood to go to the jetty (haha), tired from the long walk I guess. As for me, I went to the Cornwallis Wall, (it’s a less than a minute walk from our motel) to enjoy the rojak and the scenery.

Later in the motel, the shitty incident occurred. Toilet overflow, caused us to change to another room, which is bigger..hoho..

The day ends with all of us sleeps before the race.
